Suunto wint ISPO Award Specials
De nieuw wristop van Suunto met ingebouwde GPS, de X9, heeft in de specials categorie de 'ispo Outdoor Awards' summer 04 gewonnen.
Het commentaar over de X9: "The new computer system in wrist-strap format combines all the features of larger GPS systems in a light and easy to manage format, on the wrist. In addition to the fully expanded GPS characteristics, the X9 also contains an electronic compass and a barometer, thermometer and altimeter. The weather alarm function gives notice of larger changes in air pressure, and thus gives plenty of warning of a change in the weather. Once a predetermined route has been entered in the wrist-top device, the X9 can give the user a comprehensive overview of the current position at any time."
"The X9 gives precise instructions about direction, distance to travel and speed. Also possible is the calculation of how much time is left on the journey, and the expected time of arrival, taking into account the current travel speed. The device also stores the route that has been covered and enables the starting point to be found at any time. The 'Find home' function always displays the route already covered and the distance to the starting point that has been designated as 'home'."
