A climber stuck on a cliff dialled 999 while dangling one-handed above a 50m drop. Matthew Seymour, 21, from Birmingham, had been visiting a friend's house in Portland, Dorset, when he decided to take a short cut by scaling the cliff.
He managed to climb most of the cliff but froze halfway up the rockface at the top. He dialled coastguards with one hand while hanging on to the rock with the other. Emergency services arrived 20 minutes later to find him with arms outstretched and feet resting on a jagged edge. They said Mr Seymour had been calm, despite his precarious position.
